1.What's secomity telephone? What's the difference between secomity and regular phone?
The secomity is a kind of Net Phone which connects directly to USB port of
Personal Computer.It looks like regular phone including standard phone key
pad and most of regular phone functions, such as touch tone, ringing tone and
etc. However, it indeed is a kind of USB voice device. All communication protocols
and voice are in strict accordance with the computer and internet protocols. So
we can say that it's a "phone-like" USB device. The regular phone uses switchingtechnology.
It has a center switch that distributes voice and signals directly to each phone.
Therefore, you can hear dial tone when picking up handset, but secomity not.
2.What's the list of the contries and areas to which we can provide free calling service presently?
North America, including USA, Canada (Landline and Mobile),

3. How to dial a number correctly?
The right way to dial a landline is inputting a number sequence with COUNTRY code, AREA code and TELEPHONE number. For example, our American office number is 510 *******, here 510 is the area code, ******* is the telephone number, 1 is USA country code. So, if you want to dial this number, do press 1510*******. Another example for dialing our Guangzhou office number +86020********, here 020 is area code of Guangzhou, 86 is country code of China. Then the correct method is press 8620******** only. Please remember to delete the first 0 in area code of 020. Please follow this order even you dialing your neighbor house. The country code and the area code are necessary in our system.
The right way to dial a mobile phone is inputting a number sequence with COUNTRY code and MOBILE PHONE number. For example, a Chinese mobile phone number is 1390123xxxx. Then the correct method is press 861390123xxxx only. 86 is country code of China. The same method works in dialing the other country’s mobile phone. That is: (country code)(mobile phone number)
4. How to delete a wrong number?
Use the key * to delete the numbers one by one. Use the key # to delete all.
5. Is broadband required? Does dial-up work with secomity?
Broadband service is requited, such as xDSL, Cable modem, and LAN.
6. Can I receive such calls from regular phone line ?
Not right now as it is related to the telecom providers. It could be possible if the
cooperation with the telecom providers is established.
Currently a 16-digit Universal Phone Number System has been developed. With
this universal number, you could be reached through any phone from anywhere
in the world. This 16-digit number could be found on the bar code printed at the
back of phone set.
7. Why secomity has no jamming over Internet?
It depends on the current three types of VoIP. The first is VoIP using .323 protocol
(the technology used by the common phone cards). It needs a VoIP server respectively
on the calling side and receiving side. When the server on calling side receives a call,
it will convert the call into an information pack and send the pack through internet to the
server on the receiving side. The server on the receiving side will then transfer the call tothe local telecom network. This structure has limited number of phone lines linked to the servers on both sides. Jamming will occur when users call at the same time. This is especially true on holidays when it is quite common to spend 30 minutes or more to get through.
The second type is SIP (also known as soft switch technology). It uses caller's computer to process the caller voice into VoIP with SIP label and then send it to the destination telecomnetwork gateway directly. For instance, someone flies to Beijing from San Francisco virtually and to dial the number on Beijing local telecom network, so no jamming will occur. At present, e-Tone has adopted this technology.
The third type is P2P technology that is similar to SIP in voice communication. However, the main characteristic of P2P technology is its capability to stream large volume multimedia contents. Voice communication is only one of its functions. The quality of P2P voice communication is not as good as SIP sometimes since most of the telecom exchange gateways are not completelycompatible with P2P protocol.

9.Can I dial emergency numbers like 911 with secomity?
You can do that, but since the receiving party cannot see your phone number,
your call may not get immediate response. Therefore, e-Tone has a clear notice that
BL-05 is NOT for emergency use.
10. Can I dail free toll number 800?
No. 400 or 800 number is not supported.
11. Can I dail some special charged numbers in places like the United States?
No. (But in Chinese mainland and Taiwan, some charged phone systems do not shield VoIP.)
12. Can I cancel my regular phone service after using secomity?
We do not recommend you cancel your regular phone service because secomity is
currently not able to take incoming calls. If you have no other substitutes (such as cell phone),you'd better keep your regular phone service and set a minimum service package to save money.
13. Can I talk with a heandset microphone instead of an secomity ?
No.we don’t support direct software operate.
14. How is the quality of the call?
Similar sound quality as common landline
15. Condition of using multimedia voice terminal?
System Minimum Requirements:
* XP Operating System and WIN2000 SP2 with the last DirectX9.0 version
(if not, please download from Microsoft website.)
* At least 128M EMS memory
* At least 15M HD left
* Equipped with USB connector
Internet Requirements:
Minimum up/down stream better than 64Kbit/s
16. How to recover the system after break down?
As this Internet phone set is being used with different types of PCs, old and new, USB interfaces could be jammed sometimes with following situations: a). Legitimate user, but leave the line unconnected for long (Normally a legitimate user will be automatically logged on 10s after picking up the phone. But sometimes the user fails to set up connection after trying several times on-hook and off-hook. b). User couldn't see e-Tone interface after picking up the phone, although the microphone icon at the lower right corner of PC screen is green. Sometimes, the icon is red even with phone connected to PC (Note: you could use an USB drive to make sure the USB interface is OK.). There might be other problems. Re-plug phone set to the USB interface or try another USB interface and restart your PC to see whether the problems are solved. If it is still not working, restore the system with following procedure:
STEP 1: Find the microphone icon at the lower right corner of PC screen.

TEP 2: Right click the icon. The system will let you choose between: "run" and "quit". Choose "quit", and the icon will disappear.
STEP 3: Find the big green icon of microphone on your desktop , Double click the icon and you will find the microphone icon at the lower right corner again, which is green first, then red, and finally turns green (make sure phone is connected to the PC). Now
17. Why there is an error prompt appears showing that the application is run, while the small icon does not show on the right button of the computer screen.
Because of the improper operations of users, this prompt might appear when running the application, but there is no small icon show on the right button of the computer screen. If in such cases, find the Task Manager by holding down key (ctrl+Alt+Del or ctrl+Alt+Esc). Terminate the process of shellvoip.exe in Task Manager. Re-run the application after that.
18.How to set audio device in windows vista when using Secomity dialing devices ?
Check the audio device setting if you have problem when using Secomity dialing device in windows vista.
Firstly, connet the device to computer ‘s USB port.

19. What ports needed to be opened? How to set up?
If the network you use is equipped with outer firewall or router, for instance, corporate network or fttx lan, you need to open the following ports if any disconnection appears when using the device:

UDP 10000 - 12000
Different routers, firewalls or switches differ in their set of ports. Please contact your device provider.

24. What happens if the system prompts “ Shellvoip meets with error and needs to shut down” ?
a. Check if the device is connected to the USB port of the computer. The application might shut down if run it without connecting the device.
b. It can be caused by unfinished upgrade or incomplete software. Please re-plug the device, and download the latest software from our website. Restart the application to check if it work normally.
25. The software icon on the right button of the computer screen can not change into green or unanswered for a long time?
Red icon indicates the USB device not found. a. It might caused by incomplete setup of the operation system, which is without a USB AUDIO or HID drive. Strongly recommend to change for another USB port to try this device. b. it might caused by device damage, try it on another computer.
26. “Offline” always appears on the software interface?
Can not connect to our server or the process is too slow. Try to re-run the application or you can go to the download area of our website and download the latest update application and install it again.
27. “Registering” or “Updating” always appear on the software interface?
Uninstall the software first and download a latest update application and install it again.
28. The receiving party or the calling party can not be heard during the phone call?
a, If you are a ADSL network user, the situation that the calling party can not be heard might happen when the network connection is inadequate. It is because that the ADSL adopts a G.lite standard “asymmetrical transmission”, which means the upload speed is between 64k and 512k, while the download speed is between 512k and 2m. But some of the network service providers only provide the minimum upload and download speed to the users. It will cause the consequence that the 40k voice data
package can not be transmitted adequately when the network is busy. Data package loss or delay will be causes in such cases, and sometimes, the calling party can not be heard as a consequence.
b. If you are a fttx lan user, you are sharing a same broadband access with other users. It will cause junctions when the network is busy. In such cases, single-pass and break might happen.
c. Insufficient remaining physical memory. The minimum voice package is around 40k. It is better situation if your computer memory can reserve packages of at least 3-minite call. As a result, we require a remaining physical memory minimum of 128m. Please be sure to clear up your memory and shut down unnecessary applications.
d. Might be caused by high volume. Turn down the volume to avoid single-pass.
e. Breakdown of the hardware. Please contact your distributer.
29. Update of the software under Windows Vista operation system?
a. Pull out the device from the computer’s USB port. Right click the shellvoip icon at the right button of the screen. Choose “Exit”.
b. Find the shellvoip icon on the desktop and right click it. Choose “Run as Administrator” in the menu. The computer screen will be darkened after that and a prompt will appear. Choose “Allow”, and the computer operation system is run as administrator then. When the red icon of shellvoip appears again, re-plug the device and run the updated application.

1. How to send back device for repair
The distributers of Secomity take the responsibility of instant service of repair and component replacement. The distributers will send the device to Secomity and require for repair and replacement. After that, the device will be send first to the distributers.
2. What if I can not find my distributer when my device need repair?
In such cases, you need to contact the customer service of Secomity and report your 16-digit serial number of the device. Customer service of Secomity will check the resource of the device and report the repair to the engineers. Then the customers should send the device and purchasing voucher to Secomity. Secomity will send back the device to the customer after repair is done. The customer will be in charge of the service fee and the transportation.
